The next step after washing your hair is to condition it! Your hair should still be in four sections from washing your hair. If you missed that blog, check it out here:
1) Take one section at a time and apply a generous amount of conditioner. Smooth the conditioner through your hair using the praying hands motion.
2) I recommend ALWAYS deep conditioning. To do this, place a shower cap on your head for at least 30 mins. To amplify the effects of the conditioner, apply moderate heat. This can be a heated warmer cap, or a hot towel out of the dryer place over your shower cap.
Did you know that all of our conditioners can also double as a deep conditioner? We have 5 to choose from!
2.5) If you are pressed for time (because life happens!), just allow the conditioner to sit while you finish your other bath routine, and move to the next step.
3) DETANGLE! Use a wide tooth comb, or your tool of choice to thoroughly detangle your hair. Start at the ends of your hair and slowly work your way to the roots, DO NOT start at the roots and drag the comb through. This may cause breakage and more tangling. If your hair is especially tangled, or you are getting a lot of snags, place that section of the hair under running water (like the shower), and detangle. The running water will help melt the tangles away.
4) Thoroughly rinse the conditioner out of your hair. Remember to keep your hair in sections as we move onto the moisturizing phase! That will be in our next blog!
