2) Separate your hair into 4-6 sections for easy maneuvering. This allows you to work in each section without ending up with the tangled mess. You can secure these sections with hair ties or clips. This method will be especially useful if you have long, curly, or thick hair.
3) Two words: finger detangle. You never want to detangle dry hair. Finger detangling allows you to loosen the large tangles in your hair while being able to feel to ensure that you aren't just ripping through your hair, like with a comb. This will minimize the amount breakage you experience.
4) Once you get into the shower, loosen one section of hair. Wet the section of hair you are washing first, thoroughly. Pour shampoo onto your fingers and while holding onto the end of the hair of that section, slide your fingers into the roots of your hair and lightly scrub your scalp. Do not use your nails, as to not scratch and damage your scalp. When using natural styling products, such as the stylers and moisturizers from Shayla Naturally, the shampoo will cleanse the length of your hair during the rinse. if you must shampoo the length of your hair, use a praying hands motions to smooth the shampoo onto your hair. Do not scrunch up your hair. You can also finger detangle again during this phase to get the shampoo throughout the hair. Secure section and repeat on all sections of your hair. Remember: Shayla Naturally shampoos cleanse the hair, although, it does not provide a rich lather.
5) Rinse hair thoroughly. This can be done with all sections secured, under running water, or one section loosened at a time.
